Product Information and certification

First introduced to our extensive fleet in 2002 and was built to ATI's client-influenced specification and with the assistance of the highly respected specialist fabricators Portasilo this most versatile and portable of silos, offer maximum positional versatility. Unlike the traditional vertical unit there is no requirement for purpose-built hard standing. This unit has proven popular with our environmental industry clients, they can be positioned with forklift or crane. Once ready to operate, each silo represents an investment of £55,000.00 each for ATI, totaling 12 units purchased and added to the hire fleet in 9 years.

The simple-to-use unit is able to handle a wide range of powdered and granulated products up to approximately 2mm without the need for modification. It can be loaded to a 45' flat bed using a forklift and, although when on hard ground stands at an overall height of 11'8", in transit it constitutes a normal load of 16' high. This is merit to the fact that whilst the silo body sits on the lorry bed the supporting frame fits outside the edges of the bed and falls below it. Another of the design concepts means that when positioned to site the optimum angle of the integral screw feed conveyor is immediately achieved by the angle of the supporting frame. This resourceful design prevents bridging, thus minimising the need for flow aids.

Typical Applications

These silos have been tried and tested on Cement (OPC), Lime, Fly Ash, Bentonite, Daffodil Bulbs (yes this is correct), Sodium Bicarbanate, PAC (Powder Activated Carbon), Zeolite to name but a few. Uses have included Construction sites, Landfills, Sewerage Plants, Land Remediation, Land Decontamination, Tunneling, Piling etc.
